Works Department (South)

The Executive Engineer of the Works Department (South) oversees the areas of Haveli, Purandar, Shirur, Daund, Indapur, and Baramati talukas. The Works Department (South) consists of the following five sub-divisions:

1. Haveli/Purandar
2. Shirur/Daund
3. Baramati
4. Indapur
5. Building Sub-Division

The Works Department South is responsible for the construction of rural roads and other district roads essential for transportation in rural areas. Additionally, it undertakes the construction of basic facilities for the rural population, such as internal village roads, drains, primary school buildings, Anganwadi buildings, toilets, primary health centers, sub-centers, veterinary hospitals, etc. These tasks are carried out by the Works Department (South).

Key Activities of the Department under the Zilla Parishad:

1. Works Committee Operations.
2. Maintenance and Repair of Headquarters / Old Zilla Parishad Building.
3. Establishment of Junior Engineers and Civil Engineering Assistants

Works Department (South)

The Works Department (South) was established in May 1962, and it supervises six Talukas  under its jurisdiction: Haveli, Purandar, Baramati, Indapur, Daund, and Shirur.

Under the Maharashtra Right to Public Services Act, the following services have been notified by the Works Department (South), Zilla Parishad Pune, for the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs):

1. Issuance of No Objection Certificate for conversion of land to non-agricultural use.
2. Issuance of No Objection Certificate for laying water pipelines along Zilla Parishad roads.
3. Issuance of No Objection Certificate for installation of petrol pumps/gas pipelines.
4. Issuance of No Objection Certificate for laying optical fiber cables.
