DDUGKY (Deendayal Upadhyay Rural Skill Scheme)

Format of Scheme :-

Deen Dayal Upadhyay Rural Skill Scheme is a major scheme of the government, the main objective of the scheme is to make the youth and young women in the age group of 18 to 35 in rural areas self-reliant by providing them with skill training in various sectors and providing them with employment opportunities.

• Salient features of the scheme:-

1. Mobilization of rural household beneficiaries.
2. 3 months employment oriented free and residential training.
3. Government recognition certificate on completion of training.
4. Guaranteed employment in the private sector with a minimum salary of Rs 6000.
5. Training institutes must employ at least 70% of the total trainees.
6. Migration Assistance Centre.
7. Social Reservation (31% Scheduled Castes, 25% Scheduled Tribes, 20% Minorities, 33% Women).
8. Rs 2000 to Rs 6000 Post Placement Support for minimum 2 months to 6 months.
9. CxO meetings, Alumni meetings, etc. with various reputed companies.

• Eligibility Criteria

1. 10th pass required for most training.
2. Below poverty line families.
3. Age limit 18 to 35 years.
4. Beneficiaries from below poverty line families/ Umaid Safat Group Membership/ Yellow Ration Card/ Employment Guarantee Card holders.
5. Preference for SCST minorities.
