    • Date : 14/02/2025 -

On the occasion of the golden jubilee year of the formation of Maharashtra state, the Gramoththan Abhiyan has been launched to bring about sustainable village development in the state. This development is expected to be achieved with the financial, technical and administrative cooperation of the government in the three areas of physical, social and livelihood, and with the initiative of the people. Among these, this is a program for quality physical infrastructure. An important principle in the concept of sustainable village development is that while creating high-quality physical facilities in the village, one should first consider how the natural resources required for this can be utilized while maintaining environmental balance. The population is increasing day by day and natural resources are being depleted, due to which many issues like Global Warming are trying to take root. Creating a prosperous and prosperous village by conserving, preserving and protecting the environment is the need of the hour, so the government started the Environmentally Balanced Samruddha Gram Yojana in the year 2010-11. The main objective of this scheme is the sustainable development of the village by maintaining environmental balance. The objectives of this scheme are as follows: 1) To develop the available natural resources to maintain environmental balance and to get public participation for this. 2) To provide physical facilities keeping in mind the environment and to create a prosperous village by implementing the concept of eco-village. 3) For this, to coordinate the schemes by linking various village-level schemes of various departments of the state government and wherever new schemes and programs are needed to implement this concept, to implement such programs/schemes through the Rural Development Department to fill the gap. 4) To develop large Gram Panchayats as development centers. ***Works to be undertaken under the scheme: The funds received from the government under this scheme will be provided to the Gram Panchayats for providing basic facilities like nursery and tree plantation, village solid waste management (mainly collection and processing, using various biological and environmentally friendly technologies), village sewage management, drainage canals, street lamps-solar street lights, non-conventional energy development and use (wind, solar, biological, etc.), construction of cremation grounds and other necessary facilities for it, memorial gardens, construction of canals connecting villages and hamlets under the Gram Panchayat, parks and bus stands, Rajiv Gandhi Bharat Nirman Gram Suvidha Kendra, other innovative projects for environmentally friendly development, etc.
