    R.R. (Aba) Patil Beautiful Village Award Scheme

    The government has approved the selection of smart gram panchayats in the state by giving marks on cleanliness, management, accountability, non-conventional energy and environment, transparency and use of technology by implementing various schemes according to their capacity and giving awards at district and taluka levels by the government decision dated 21/11/2016. Former Deputy Chief Minister R.R. (Aaba) Patil has made invaluable contributions to the development of rural Maharashtra. Considering his contribution to rural development, the Smart Gram Scheme being implemented in the state has been approved as R.R. (Aaba) Patil Sunder Gaon Puraskar Yojana under the government decision dated 20/03/2020. Beneficiaries: Gram Panchayats in the district Taluka level selection: Gram Panchayats in the district conduct self-evaluation as per the criteria mentioned in Appendix “A” of the government decision dated 21/11/2016 and send the marks to the concerned Panchayat Samiti office. At the taluka level, the Taluka Inspection Committee is formed by the Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad Ratnagiri. The Gram Panchayat that scores the highest marks is declared as Taluka Smart. A prize of Rs. 10 lakh is given to the Taluka Smart Gram Panchayat. District Level Selection: After re-evaluating all the Gram Panchayats in the district that have been declared Taluka Smart, the District Committee declares the Gram Panchayat with the highest marks as District Smart. A prize of Rs. 40 lakh is given to the Gram Panchayat that has been declared District Smart. Objectives of the scheme: 1) To develop the available natural resources to maintain environmental balance and to get public participation for this 2) To provide physical facilities keeping in mind the environment and to create prosperous villages by implementing the concept of eco-village 3) To coordinate the schemes by linking various village-level schemes of various departments of the state government and to fill the gap where new schemes and programs are needed to implement this concept, such programs/schemes should be implemented through the Rural Development and 4) Divisions. The following works are carried out from the prize money received by the Gram Panchayats awarded under the scheme. 1) Innovative projects related to non-conventional energy 2) Innovative projects regarding cleanliness 3) Women empowerment and child-friendly projects 4) Clean water distribution projects 5) Installation of Geographic Information System (GIS) 6) Collection of international standards/guidelines and preparation of checklists and implementation of projects to enhance quality. 7) Installation of solar street lights within the limits of the Gram Panchayat 8) Installation of fencing to prevent encroachment on public land within the limits of the Gram Panchayat 9) Installation of internet WiFi system for the convenience of the citizens by the Gram Panchayat selected under the Smart Village Scheme/RR (Aaba) Patil Sunder Gaon Puraskar Scheme.
